Our Take

Insanity Alert's latest EP, "Moshemian Thrashody," is a whirlwind of high-octane energy and unapologetic chaos. From the moment the needle hits the splatter vinyl, you're transported to a world where mosh pits are mandatory and headbanging is a way of life.

The Austrian thrash metal outfit waste no time in delivering a sonic assault of blistering riffs, thunderous drums, and guttural screams. Tracks like "The Body of the Christ is the Parasite" and "All Mosh / No Brain" hit you like a freight train, leaving you exhilarated and slightly bruised at the same time.

But what sets Insanity Alert apart from other thrash bands is their irreverent sense of humour. The lyrical content is a mix of social commentary, party anthems, and downright absurdity. It's hard not to crack a smile when listening to lines like "I'm gonna chop chop chop chop you up" or "I'm a thrasher and I'm proud of it."

Overall, "Moshemian Thrashody" is a wild ride from start to finish. It may not reinvent the thrash metal wheel, but it certainly gives it a damn good spin. So grab a beer, crank up the volume, and get ready to lose yourself in the insanity that is Insanity Alert. Welcome to the mosh pit, my friends.

About the artist

Insanity Alert

INSANITY ALERT is the thrash metal gift that keeps on giving. Hailing from Innsbruck, Austria, this quartet epitomizes the raw, unapologetic energy of the genre. With influences ranging from early Metallica to crossover legends D.R.I., INSANITY ALERT blends blistering speed with humor that hits harder than a mosh pit punch to the face. Their latest release, "666-Pack," is a relentless onslaught of riffs and hooks that will have you headbanging like it's 1986. The band's tongue-in-cheek lyrics and cheeky song titles (see: "March of the Gore Squad" and "All Mosh / No Brain") remind us that metal can still be fun, even in a world that takes itself too seriously. Frontman The Dave must have a direct line to the metal gods, as his vocals range from guttural growls to soaring screams with effortless precision. Guitarist Dave Dictator shreds like he's selling his soul to the devil, while bassist Don Melanzani and drummer The Held keep the rhythm section thundering along like a runaway freight train. If you're in need of a musical pick-me-up that's guaranteed to leave you sweaty and grinning from ear to ear, INSANITY ALERT is the band for you. So grab a beer, crank up the volume, and let the insanity begin. Because when it comes to thrash metal, these Austrian madmen are the real deal.
