Our Take

Ah, INSANITY ALERT. The Austrian thrash outfit famous for their high-energy live shows and tongue-in-cheek lyrics have blessed us with their latest offering, Moshemian Thrashody EP. And boy, does it pack a punch.

From the opening track "Chaosmos", it's clear that this EP is not for the faint-hearted. With blistering riffs, breakneck drumming, and vocals that sound like they've been summoned straight from the depths of hell, INSANITY ALERT waste no time in grabbing your attention and refusing to let go.

Tracks like "The Body of the Christ is the Parasite" and "Obliteration of the Self" see the band at their most relentless, delivering a sonic assault that will leave you dizzy and desperate for more. The production is raw and unpolished, giving the EP a distinctly DIY feel that only adds to its charm.

But it's not all mosh pits and chaos. The cheekily titled "Encyclopedia of Thrashology" showcases the band's lighter side, with quirky lyrics and a catchy chorus that will have you singing along in no time.

Overall, Moshemian Thrashody is a whirlwind of an EP that proves INSANITY ALERT are still at the top of their game. If you're a fan of thrash metal with a sense of humour, this is one release you won't want to miss. So grab your leather jacket, crank up the volume, and prepare to headbang your way through this modern thrash classic.

About the artist

Insanity Alert

INSANITY ALERT is the thrash metal gift that keeps on giving. Hailing from Innsbruck, Austria, this quartet epitomizes the raw, unapologetic energy of the genre. With influences ranging from early Metallica to crossover legends D.R.I., INSANITY ALERT blends blistering speed with humor that hits harder than a mosh pit punch to the face. Their latest release, "666-Pack," is a relentless onslaught of riffs and hooks that will have you headbanging like it's 1986. The band's tongue-in-cheek lyrics and cheeky song titles (see: "March of the Gore Squad" and "All Mosh / No Brain") remind us that metal can still be fun, even in a world that takes itself too seriously. Frontman The Dave must have a direct line to the metal gods, as his vocals range from guttural growls to soaring screams with effortless precision. Guitarist Dave Dictator shreds like he's selling his soul to the devil, while bassist Don Melanzani and drummer The Held keep the rhythm section thundering along like a runaway freight train. If you're in need of a musical pick-me-up that's guaranteed to leave you sweaty and grinning from ear to ear, INSANITY ALERT is the band for you. So grab a beer, crank up the volume, and let the insanity begin. Because when it comes to thrash metal, these Austrian madmen are the real deal.
