Our Take

INSANITY ALERT's latest offering, "Moshburger," is a fast-paced, frenetic burst of energy that will leave you with whiplash and a sweaty forehead. Imagine if your favourite punk bands had a lovechild with a thrash metal band, and that's pretty much what you get with this album.

From the moment the needle hits the transparent orange vinyl, you're greeted with blistering guitar riffs, lightning-fast drumming, and vocals that sound like they've been gargling gravel. It's chaotic, it's loud, and it's absolutely bloody brilliant.

Tracks like "A Skullcrushin' Good Time" and "March of the Mentally Ill" will have you headbanging like your life depends on it, while "The Body of the Christ is the Parasite" will have you questioning your life choices in the best possible way.

But it's not all about speed and aggression – there are moments of surprising melody and even a touch of humour sprinkled throughout the album. "Chronic State of Hate" is a prime example, with its infectious chorus and cheeky lyrics that will have you grinning from ear to ear.

In conclusion, "Moshburger" is a raucous, riotous romp that will have you reaching for your leather jacket and safety pins in no time. INSANITY ALERT have served up a deliciously crunchy burger of moshing mayhem, and you'll want to sink your teeth into it again and again. Bon appétit, punk rockers.

About the artist

Insanity Alert

INSANITY ALERT is the thrash metal gift that keeps on giving. Hailing from Innsbruck, Austria, this quartet epitomizes the raw, unapologetic energy of the genre. With influences ranging from early Metallica to crossover legends D.R.I., INSANITY ALERT blends blistering speed with humor that hits harder than a mosh pit punch to the face. Their latest release, "666-Pack," is a relentless onslaught of riffs and hooks that will have you headbanging like it's 1986. The band's tongue-in-cheek lyrics and cheeky song titles (see: "March of the Gore Squad" and "All Mosh / No Brain") remind us that metal can still be fun, even in a world that takes itself too seriously. Frontman The Dave must have a direct line to the metal gods, as his vocals range from guttural growls to soaring screams with effortless precision. Guitarist Dave Dictator shreds like he's selling his soul to the devil, while bassist Don Melanzani and drummer The Held keep the rhythm section thundering along like a runaway freight train. If you're in need of a musical pick-me-up that's guaranteed to leave you sweaty and grinning from ear to ear, INSANITY ALERT is the band for you. So grab a beer, crank up the volume, and let the insanity begin. Because when it comes to thrash metal, these Austrian madmen are the real deal.
