Our Take
Our Take
Ah, Dire Straits. The band that brought us the iconic hit "Sultans of Swing" and that timeless guitar riff that just won't quit. Now, they're back with their latest album "What's the matter, baby?" and let me tell you, it's a rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish.
The album kicks off with the title track, a funky little number that will have you tapping your foot and nodding your head in no time. Mark Knopfler's signature guitar work shines through on this track, reminding us all why he's considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
As the album progresses, we're treated to a mix of bluesy ballads, soulful melodies, and even a bit of country twang thrown in for good measure. The band's chemistry is palpable, with each member bringing their A-game to the table.
Standout tracks include the haunting "Lost and found" which showcases Knopfler's soulful vocals, and the upbeat "Just can't get enough" which will have you dancing around the room like nobody's watching.
Overall, "What's the matter, baby?" is a solid addition to Dire Straits' discography. It may not reinvent the wheel, but it's a damn good time from start to finish. So grab a pint, put on your dancing shoes, and let Dire Straits take you on a musical journey you won't soon forget. Cheers, mates.
