Album Review: JEFFERSON AIRPLANE - Volunteers If there's one band that knows how to stir up a psychedelic frenzy, it's Jefferson Airplane. And with their latest release, "Volunteers," they're cranking up the revolution to eleven. From the moment the opening track kicks in, it's clear that this isn't your average flower power album. No, sir. This is a sonic assault on the senses, with blistering guitars, soaring vocals, and lyrics that could incite a riot in your local tea shop. The band's infamous lineup, including the mesmerising Grace Slick and the enigmatic Jorma Kaukonen, are firing on all cylinders here. Tracks like "We Can Be Together" and "Wooden Ships" showcase their fearless experimentation, blending folk, rock, and a healthy dose of political activism. But it's not all heavy-handed protest songs and mind-expanding instrumentals. Oh no. Jefferson Airplane know how to throw a party too, as evidenced by the rollicking "Eskimo Blue Day" and the infectious grooves of "A Song for All Seasons."
