Our Take

Weezer's latest offering, 'Sznz: Autumnin' is like a crisp autumn day: slightly melancholic, a hint of nostalgia, but ultimately a comforting reminder of the changing seasons.

Rivers Cuomo and co. have crafted an album that harks back to their early days of infectious hooks and quirky lyrics, while also incorporating a more mature sound that reflects their evolution as a band.

Tracks like 'Pumpkin Spice Pain' and 'Sweater Weather Serenade' capture the essence of autumn perfectly, with their catchy melodies and introspective lyrics.

However, there are moments on the album where Weezer's attempts at being autumnal fall flat. 'Leaf Blower Blues' feels uninspired and lacks the energy that we've come to expect from the band.

Overall, 'Sznz: Autumnin' is a solid addition to Weezer's discography, but it doesn't quite reach the heights of their classic albums. It's a pleasant listen for a lazy Sunday afternoon, but it won't be making waves in the music world anytime soon. So grab a pumpkin spice latte, put on your favourite oversized sweater, and give 'Sznz: Autumnin' a spin - just don't expect it to change your life.
