          Our Take
GWAR's latest release, Scumdogs Xxx Live, is a raucous journey through the dark and twisted minds of these self-proclaimed "space barbarians." The album captures the band's infamous live energy with a mix of thrashing guitars, pounding drums, and blood-curdling screams that will leave you both terrified and exhilarated.
From the opening track "Slaughterama" to the closing anthem "Sick of You," GWAR never lets up, delivering a relentless onslaught of grotesque theatrics and blistering metal riffs. Lead vocalist Oderus Urungus (R.I.P.) commands the stage with his larger-than-life presence, while the rest of the band members - Beefcake the Mighty, Balsac the Jaws of Death, Jizmak da Gusha, and Pustulus Maximus - provide the sonic backbone for their outlandish antics.
While some may dismiss GWAR as a novelty act, there's no denying the sheer musicianship on display here. Tracks like "Maggots" and "Horror of Yig" showcase the band's technical prowess, with intricate guitar solos and thunderous drum fills that rival some of the biggest names in metal.
Ultimately, Scumdogs Xxx Live is a wild, unapologetic celebration of all things loud and bizarre. If you're a fan of over-the-top theatrics and face-melting metal, GWAR's latest offering is sure to satisfy your cravings for chaos. Just be sure to bring a change of clothes - things are bound to get messy.

About the artist
Gwar
GWAR may appear to be a group of intergalactic barbarians hell-bent on destroying Earth with their outrageous stage antics and outlandish costumes, but don't be fooled by their otherworldly appearance - beneath the grotesque façade lies a band of musical virtuosos who have been rocking the metal scene for over three decades. Hailing from the planet Scumdogia, GWAR burst onto the music scene in the late 1980s with their unique blend of thrash metal, punk rock, and shock rock. Known for their over-the-top live shows that involve copious amounts of fake blood, gore, and elaborate costumes, GWAR have cultivated a loyal following of fans who flock to their concerts to witness the chaos unfold. Led by the enigmatic frontman Oderus Urungus (played by the late Dave Brockie), GWAR have released a string of critically acclaimed albums over the years, including "Scumdogs of the Universe" and "America Must Be Destroyed". Their tongue-in-cheek lyrics and satirical take on politics and pop culture have earned them a cult following and cemented their status as one of the most unique and enduring bands in the metal genre. Despite facing numerous lineup changes and personal tragedies over the years, GWAR have remained a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. With their larger-than-life personas and their unapologetically bombastic music, GWAR continue to push boundaries and defy expectations, proving that sometimes it takes a group of alien warriors to remind us all to not take ourselves too seriously.
