Our Take

Review: WHITESNAKE - Restless Heart (Deluxe Edition)

In a world where hairspray was as abundant as talent in the 80s, Whitesnake stood out as the ultimate purveyors of big hair rock'n'roll. Fast forward to 2021, and they're back with a deluxe edition of their album "Restless Heart," promising us a trip down memory lane with a few new twists.

The album kicks off with the classic power ballad "Don't Fade Away," with David Coverdale's signature vocals sending shivers down our spines. The production is slicker than a greased-up snake, making every guitar riff and drum beat shine like a beacon of nostalgia.

Tracks like "All I Want All I Need" and "Too Many Tears" showcase the band's ability to tug at our heartstrings while simultaneously making us want to headbang like it's 1987. The deluxe edition adds in a few bonus tracks, including a live version of "Is This Love," which just makes us wish we were back in the heyday of arena rock concerts.

While some may write off Whitesnake as a relic of the past, "Restless Heart" proves that they still have the chops to deliver a memorable rock album. So grab your leather jacket, tease up your hair, and crank up the volume on this deluxe edition - you won't be disappointed.

Rating: 8.0 - Rock on, old school style.

Known for their blistering guitar solos, soulful ballads, and Coverdale's trademark howling vocals, Whitesnake has left a trail of broken hearts and melted faces in their wake. With a discography spanning over four decades, Whitesnake has cemented their status as one of the most enduring and influential rock bands of all time. From their early bluesy beginnings to their arena-rock heyday in the 1980s, the band has consistently pushed the boundaries of rock and roll, earning them a devoted fan base that spans generations. So if you're looking for a wild ride through the annals of rock history, look no further than Whitesnake. With their killer riffs, powerhouse vocals, and undeniable swagger, these sizzling serpents of rock are sure to leave you begging for more.
