Our Take

WHITESNAKE’s “Saints and Sinners” is a gloriously over-the-top romp through the world of 80s hair metal, complete with soaring guitar solos, wailing vocals, and enough leather to outfit a small village. David Coverdale’s signature howl cuts through the mix like a chainsaw through butter, commanding attention with every note.

The album kicks off with the electrifying “Young Blood,” a barnstormer of a track that sets the tone for the rest of the record. From there, we’re treated to the riff-tastic “Rough An’ Ready” and the power ballad “Bloody Luxury,” which showcases Coverdale’s softer side.

But it’s the epic “Crying in the Rain” that truly steals the show, with its thunderous drums and searing guitar work creating a sonic landscape that transports you straight back to the heyday of big hair and tight spandex.

While some may write off WHITESNAKE as a relic of a bygone era, “Saints and Sinners” proves that this band still has plenty of tricks up their sleeve. So grab your hairspray, slip into your tightest jeans, and crank this album up to 11. It’s a wild ride from start to finish, and one that’s guaranteed to leave you headbanging and air guitaring like it’s 1982 all over again.
