Our Take

LYNYRD SKYNYRD, "Pronounced Leh Nerd Skin Nerd"

It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's the Southern rock gods themselves, Lynyrd Skynyrd, gracing us with their debut album "Pronounced Leh Nerd Skin Nerd." This 1973 release is a bit like a rebellious teenager - full of energy, attitude, and a whole lot of denim.

From the instantly recognisable riff of "Sweet Home Alabama" to the raw power of "Free Bird," this album serves up a heaping helping of good ol' fashioned Southern charm. It's like a plate of fried chicken and collard greens - satisfying, comforting, and oh-so-delicious.

But don't let the laid-back vibe fool you - Lynyrd Skynyrd are no strangers to controversy. From their rebellious spirit to their anti-establishment lyrics, this band doesn't shy away from making a statement. And with tracks like "Gimme Three Steps" and "Things Goin' On," they make sure you know exactly where they stand.

So grab your cowboy boots, fire up the barbecue, and crank up the volume on "Pronounced Leh Nerd Skin Nerd." Lynyrd Skynyrd may have left us too soon, but their music remains a timeless testament to the power of Southern rock. Rock on, brothers and sisters.

About the artist

Lynyrd Skynyrd

LYNYRD SKYNYRD - Southern Rock Legends or Rebel Yell Misfits? Hailing from the land of fried chicken, sweet tea, and Confederate flags, the boys of Lynyrd Skynyrd have been proudly flying the Southern rock flag since the early '70s. With their long hair, beards, and penchant for a good ol' fashioned whisky-fueled jam session, these boys are the epitome of classic rock cool. Formed in Jacksonville, Florida, back in 1964, Lynyrd Skynyrd quickly rose to fame with their signature sound combining blues, country, and good ol' fashioned rock 'n' roll. With anthem-like tracks such as "Sweet Home Alabama", "Free Bird", and "Simple Man", these southern rebels have solidified their place in the pantheon of rock gods. But it hasn't always been smooth sailing for these Southern sons. Tragedy struck in 1977 when a plane crash claimed the lives of lead singer Ronnie Van Zant and guitarist Steve Gaines, sending shockwaves through the music world. Despite this devastating loss, the band rose from the ashes like a phoenix, showing the world that you can't keep a good Southern rocker down. With their fiery guitar solos, soulful vocals, and rebellious spirit, Lynyrd Skynyrd are a force to be reckoned with. Whether you're a whiskey-swillin', motorcycle-ridin' badass or just a fan of good old-fashioned rock 'n' roll, these southern boys have something for everyone. So grab a cold one, crank up the volume, and let Lynyrd Skynyrd take you on a wild ride through the back roads of the Deep South.
