Hailing from the land of fried chicken, sweet tea, and Confederate flags, the boys of Lynyrd Skynyrd have been proudly flying the Southern rock flag since the early '70s. With their long hair, beards, and penchant for a good ol' fashioned whisky-fueled jam session, these boys are the epitome of classic rock cool.

Formed in Jacksonville, Florida, back in 1964, Lynyrd Skynyrd quickly rose to fame with their signature sound combining blues, country, and good ol' fashioned rock 'n' roll. Tragedy struck in 1977 when a plane crash claimed the lives of lead singer Ronnie Van Zant and guitarist Steve Gaines, sending shockwaves through the music world. Despite this devastating loss, the band rose from the ashes like a phoenix, showing the world that you can't keep a good Southern rocker down.
