Our Take

Ah, KROKUS. The Swiss band that's been rocking since before you were even a thought in your parents' minds. Their album "Metal Rendezvous" is like a time machine taking you back to the days of leather jackets, mullets, and excessive use of hairspray.

From the opening riff of "Heatstrokes," you can tell that these guys mean business. The guitars are loud, the vocals are gritty, and the drumming is as solid as a Swiss watch. It's like they took all the best parts of 80s metal and cranked it up to 11.

Tracks like "Bedside Radio" and "Streamer" will have you headbanging like there's no tomorrow. You can almost smell the smoke-filled arenas and feel the sticky floors beneath your feet. It's a nostalgia trip that's as enjoyable as it is ridiculous.

But don't let the hairspray fool you - there's some serious musicianship going on here. The guitar solos are blistering, the basslines are thunderous, and the drums are relentless. These guys may look like they just stepped out of a time machine, but they know how to rock.

So grab your leather jacket, throw up the horns, and crank up "Metal Rendezvous" as loud as you can. It may be cheesy, it may be over the top, but damn if it isn't a good time. 8.5/10.

About the artist

Krokus

Switzerland might be famous for its chocolate and cuckoo clocks, but in the world of rock music, it's all about KROKUS. Formed in 1975 in Solothurn, this quintet has been serving up hard-hitting riffs and anthemic choruses for over four decades. Fronted by the charismatic Marc Storace, KROKUS burst onto the scene in the early 80s with their breakthrough album "Metal Rendez-vous", catapulting them to international fame. Known for their energetic live shows and larger-than-life personalities, KROKUS quickly became one of the most beloved bands in the heavy metal scene. With a sound that blends the ferocity of Judas Priest with the melodic sensibilities of Def Leppard, KROKUS has carved out a unique niche for themselves in the annals of rock history. Tracks like "Screaming in the Night" and "Midnite Maniac" are sure to get your head banging and your air guitar shredding in no time. Despite some lineup changes over the years, KROKUS has remained a force to be reckoned with in the world of rock music. Their latest album, "Big Rocks", is a testament to their enduring appeal and their commitment to pure, unadulterated rock 'n' roll. Whether you're a die-hard fan or a casual listener, KROKUS is a band that demands to be heard. So crank up the volume, throw up the devil horns, and let the music of these Swiss rockers transport you to a time when rock 'n' roll ruled the world.
