Our Take

DEFTONES have always been the masters of blending aggression and beauty, and their latest album Koi No Yokan is no exception. From the moment "Swerve City" kicks off with its aggressive guitar riffs and Chino Moreno's signature screams, it's clear that this is a band at the top of their game.

Tracks like "Leathers" and "Poltergeist" showcase the band's ability to create heavy, atmospheric music that still manages to be catchy and engaging. Sergio Vega's bass lines feel like they're wrapping around your soul, while Abe Cunningham's drumming is as tight and ferocious as ever. These guys haven't lost a step in their almost 30-year career.

But it's on tracks like "Rosemary" and "Entombed" where the band really shines, showing off their more experimental side. The ethereal guitars and haunting vocals create a sense of otherworldly beauty that's impossible to resist.
