Isaacs' effortless charisma shines through on each song, whether he's crooning about love lost or sharing tales of island life. About the artist

Gregory Isaacs

Gregory Isaacs, the Cool Ruler himself, was a Jamaican reggae artist known for his smooth vocals, laid-back style, and soulful lyrics. With a career spanning over four decades, Isaacs left a lasting legacy on the reggae scene and beyond. Born in Kingston, Jamaica in 1951, Isaacs first made a name for himself in the late 1960s as part of the duo The Concords. However, it was his solo career that truly solidified his status as a reggae legend. With hits like "Night Nurse", "Love Is Overdue", and "Soon Forward", Isaacs captured the hearts of music fans around the world. But it wasn't just Isaacs' music that made him stand out - it was also his distinctive style. With his trademark fedora, sunglasses, and impeccably tailored suits, Isaacs exuded coolness wherever he went. Whether he was performing on stage or lounging in the studio, Isaacs always looked effortlessly stylish. In addition to his music, Isaacs was also known for his larger-than-life personality. With a mischievous twinkle in his eye and a quick wit, Isaacs could always be counted on for a good story or a hilarious joke. He had a way of making everyone around him feel at ease, whether they were a longtime fan or a new acquaintance. Sadly, Isaacs passed away in 2010, but his music and his spirit live on. His soulful voice and timeless songs continue to inspire artists and fans alike, ensuring that the Cool Ruler will always have a place in the hearts of music lovers everywhere. Gregory Isaacs may have left us, but his legacy will never be forgotten.
