Our Take
Our Take
Look, we get it, Demi Lovato is a pop princess for the ages with a voice that could shatter glass and a personality that is as lovable as a fluffy puppy. But does her latest album, "Demi," really hit the mark? Well, like a rollercoaster ride at a dodgy fairground, it's a bit of a mixed bag.
The opening track, "Heart Attack," is a bouncy slice of electro-pop that will have you bopping along in no time. Lovato's vocals soar over the pulsing beats, making it the perfect anthem for a night out with your besties. But then we hit a bump in the road with tracks like "Really Don't Care," which feels a bit too generic and uninspired for our liking.
That being said, there are some gems hidden amongst the rubble. "Nightingale" is a stripped-back ballad that showcases Lovato's emotional depth, while "Warrior" is a powerhouse of a song that will leave you with goosebumps. Overall, "Demi" is a solid effort from the pop star, but we can't help but feel like she's capable of so much more.
So, in conclusion, if you're a die-hard Demi fan, you'll probably love this album. But if you're looking for something groundbreaking and revolutionary, you might want to look elsewhere. Sorry, Demi, better luck next time.
