Our Take
Our Take
It's safe to say that Sleaford Mods are probably the most unapologetically pissed off duo in British music right now. With their latest album "Austerity Dogs," they continue to spit fire at the crumbling state of the nation over a relentless onslaught of minimalist beats and angry rants.
Jason Williamson's razor-sharp delivery cuts through the mix like a chainsaw through butter, his working-class drawl dripping with venom as he delivers blistering diatribes against politicians, hipsters, and anyone else who dares to get in his way. Meanwhile, Andrew Fearn's lo-fi production provides the perfect backdrop for Williamson's lyrical onslaught, a vicious blend of punk, hip-hop, and pure fucking rage.
Tracks like "Jolly Fucker" and "McFlurry" are perfect examples of the Mods' unique brand of confrontational genius, combining scathing social commentary with darkly humorous observations on everyday life. And while their sound may be stripped down to the bare essentials, there's a raw power and energy here that's impossible to ignore.
So if you're tired of the same old bland, corporate bullshit that passes for music these days, do yourself a favor and give "Austerity Dogs" a spin. It's not easy listening, that's for sure, but sometimes you need a kick in the teeth to remind you that music can still be dangerous, exciting, and bloody brilliant.

About the artist
Sleaford Mods
Sleaford Mods are the unlikely duo from Nottingham, UK who have been shaking up the music scene with their raw, unapologetic brand of punk-infused electronic beats. Comprised of frontman Jason Williamson and musician Andrew Fearn, the Mods have gained a reputation for their scathing lyrics, delivered in Williamson's trademark rapid-fire style. With their no-holds-barred approach to social commentary, Sleaford Mods have established themselves as the voice of the disenfranchised working class in Britain. Their lyrics capture the frustrations and struggles of everyday life, addressing issues such as unemployment, government austerity measures, and the decline of traditional British industries. But don't let their political message fool you - Sleaford Mods are not afraid to have a good time. Their energetic live performances are a sight to behold, with Williamson's stage presence commanding the audience's attention from start to finish. And Fearn's pulsating beats provide the perfect backdrop for Williamson's lyrical onslaught. In a music landscape oversaturated with manufactured pop stars and cookie-cutter bands, Sleaford Mods stand out as a refreshingly authentic and unapologetic force to be reckoned with. With their unapologetic attitude and irreverent sense of humour, they are a breath of fresh air in the music industry. So if you're looking for music that packs a punch and isn't afraid to speak truth to power, look no further than Sleaford Mods. They may not be everyone's cup of tea, but one thing's for sure - they're not here to make friends. And that's just the way we like it.
