Our Take
Our Take
BLACK STAR RIDERS have returned with their latest album, "Wrong Side Of Paradise," and it's safe to say they've landed firmly on the wrong side of quality.
From the opening track, "Lost in the Wilderness," it's clear that this album is a misstep for the band. The lacklustre vocals and generic guitar riffs make for a forgettable listening experience.
The album's title track, "Wrong Side Of Paradise," tries to inject some energy into the mix, but falls flat with its clichéd lyrics and uninspired instrumentation. It's hard to believe this is the same band that once had us rocking out to their anthemic hits.
As we delve further into the album, tracks like "Fool's Gold" and "Desperate Times" only serve to highlight the album's overall lack of creativity. It's as if BLACK STAR RIDERS have taken a step back in their evolution as musicians.
The only saving grace on "Wrong Side Of Paradise" is the closing track, "End of the Road," where the band finally manages to capture some emotion and depth. But unfortunately, it's too little too late to salvage this sinking ship of an album.
In conclusion, BLACK STAR RIDERS have missed the mark with "Wrong Side Of Paradise," delivering an album that fails to excite or engage. Let's hope they can find their way back to the right side of the musical landscape on their next release.
