Our Take

Ah, Uriah Heep - the band synonymous with 70s rock excess, flamboyant stage attire, and more organ solos than you can shake a stick at. Their latest offering, "Wonderworld" on picture disc, is a kitschy blast from the past that will have you dusting off your bell bottoms and cranking up the volume.

From the opening track, "Wonderworld," it's clear that Uriah Heep are not messing about. The bombastic guitars, soaring vocals, and Hammond organ wizardry are all present and correct, transporting you back to a time when rock gods roamed the earth in leather pants and fringe jackets.

Highlights include the anthemic "So Tired," which features some of frontman David Byron's most impassioned vocals, and the epic ballad "The Easy Road," which showcases the band's softer side. But it's tracks like "Something Or Nothing" and "I Won't Mind" that really steal the show, with their infectious hooks and undeniable swagger.

Sure, the production may be a bit dated and the lyrics a tad cheesy, but that's all part of Uriah Heep's charm.
