Our Take
As I sat down to listen to The Who's iconic album "Who Are You" remastered at half speed, I was filled with a sense of anticipation and nostalgia. Would this new version bring a fresh perspective to the band's classic sound, or would it fall flat like a deflated balloon at a children's party? From the opening track "New Song," it was clear that this remaster was no ordinary re-release. The crispness of the guitar riffs, the clarity of Roger Daltrey's vocals, and the thunderous drums all came through with a newfound intensity that demanded attention. It was like hearing the album for the first time all over again, but with a shiny new coat of paint. As I delved deeper into the album, tracks like "Had Enough" and "Sister Disco" shone brightly with a renewed energy that seemed to leap out of the speakers and grab me by the collar. Pete Townshend's songwriting was on full display, with lyrics that cut deep and melodies that soared to new heights. But it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows.
