Our Take
Our Take
Ah, Whitney Houston, the Queen of the Night herself. This reissue of her debut album on peach vinyl is sure to make you wanna dance with somebody, or at least sway awkwardly in your living room.
From the moment you drop the needle on side A, you're transported back to the 80s, when big hair and big voices ruled the charts. Whitney's self-titled album is packed with hits like "Saving All My Love for You" and "How Will I Know," showcasing her powerhouse vocals and undeniable charisma.
The production is slicker than a greased up pole at a strip club, with lush synths and funky basslines that will have you grooving in no time. But what really stands out is Whitney's voice, soaring and emotive, hitting notes that most of us can only dream of.
Sure, there are moments when the cheesy 80s production feels a tad dated, like a faded photograph in your parents' album. But that's all part of the fun, right? Whitney's charm and talent shine through, making this album a must-have for any music lover.
So go ahead, grab yourself a glass of bubbly and spin this peachy keen vinyl. Whitney Houston may be gone, but her music lives on, reminding us that she will always love us.

About the artist
Whitney Houston
Whitney Houston: Queen of the Vocal Olympics If vocal cords were Olympic events, Whitney Houston would have more gold medals than Michael Phelps. With a range that could shatter glass and power that could move mountains, Houston is undeniably one of the greatest vocalists of all time. Born in Newark, New Jersey in 1963, Houston was destined for stardom from a young age. The daughter of gospel singer Cissy Houston and cousin of legendary singer Dionne Warwick, music ran through her veins. But it was her powerhouse voice and unparalleled ability to emote that truly set her apart. Houston's self-titled debut album, released in 1985, catapulted her to superstardom with hits like "Greatest Love of All" and "Saving All My Love for You." From then on, she dominated the charts with timeless classics like "I Will Always Love You" and "I Wanna Dance with Somebody." Despite her undeniable talent, Houston's personal struggles often overshadowed her music. Her tumultuous relationship with Bobby Brown and battles with addiction were well-documented in the tabloids. But through it all, her voice remained a beacon of light in a sometimes dark world. Tragically, Houston's life was cut short in 2012 at the age of 48. But her legacy lives on through her iconic music, which continues to inspire and uplift listeners around the world. Whitney Houston may be gone, but her voice will forever remain immortal. Rest in power, queen of the vocal Olympics.
