Our Take
Once in a while, an album comes along that makes you question your existence in the best possible way. Don Rondo's "White Silver Sands: The Don Rondo Collection 1955-60" is not one of those albums. I mean, come on, Don. White silver sands? Really? Is that all you could come up with? It sounds like the title of a middle-aged man's failed attempt at a beach novel. But hey, who needs a killer album title when you've got those sweet, sweet 1950s vibes, am I right? With tracks like "Two Different Worlds" and "Margie," Don Rondo takes us on a journey back to a time when men wore fedoras without a hint of irony and women were probably swooning left and right. But don't let the nostalgia fool you – this collection is as relevant as ever.
