Tarja Turunen, the Finnish soprano known for her powerful vocals and operatic flair, has returned with her sophomore solo album, "What Lies Beneath," and it's a mixed bag of symphonic goodness.

The album kicks off with the hauntingly beautiful "Anteroom of Death," featuring none other than Van Canto on guest vocals. The contrast between Tarja's soaring vocals and the heavy metal elements creates a dynamic sound that sets the tone for the rest of the album.

Tracks like "Until My Last Breath" and "Dark Star" showcase Tarja's signature operatic style, while songs like "I Feel Immortal" and "Rivers of Lust" bring a more mainstream pop-rock vibe to the table.
