Our Take

Foxy geniuses? More like Foxy cringe-y-us, am I right? Foxygen's latest effort, "We are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic," oozes with retro charm like a dodgy thrift shop sweater. From the Bowie-wannabe vocals to the cheesy synth swirls, it's like the band raided their parents' record collection and tried to pass it off as originality.

But hey, let's give credit where it's due. The duo's knack for crafting catchy hooks and infectious melodies is undeniable. Tracks like "No Destruction" and "San Francisco" will have you tapping your toes and humming along for days. And the production? It's slicker than a snake oil salesman in a velvet suit.

However, the self-indulgent lyrics and over-the-top theatrics can feel a bit like a bad acid trip. It's as if Foxygen are trying too hard to be cool and quirky, but end up falling flat on their faces. Sorry lads, but being weird for the sake of being weird doesn't always equal artistry.
