Ah, Seether. The band that manages to simultaneously make you want to headbang until your neck aches and sob into your pillow. Their latest album, "Wasteland - The Purgatory," is no exception to this rule.
Kicking off with the title track, we are immediately thrust into a sonic wasteland of aggressive riffs and haunting vocals. Frontman Shaun Morgan's signature gravelly voice is as raw as ever, perfectly complementing the heavy guitar work and pounding drums.
The track "Bruised and Bloodied" is a standout, with its infectious chorus and relentless energy. It's the kind of song that makes you want to jump up and down until your legs give out.
However, not every track on the album hits the mark. "Beg" feels like a bit of a filler, lacking the same intensity and passion as the other songs. It's a shame to see Seether stumble when they are capable of producing such powerful music.
Overall, "Wasteland - The Purgatory" is a solid addition to Seether's discography. While it may not reach the same heights as some of their previous albums, it still showcases their ability to blend heavy rock with emotional lyrics in a way that only they can. So grab a tissue and your air guitar, and prepare to be taken on a rollercoaster of emotions.
