Our Take
Our Take
Hailing from the land of pasties and Poldark, Cornwall's own KING CREATURE have graced us with their debut album "Volume One." Aptly named, as this record is indeed one volume of pure, unadulterated rock n' roll brilliance.
From the minute the opening track kicks in, you can almost smell the salty sea air and feel the sand between your toes. The boys from the southwest bring a raw, gritty energy to their music that is impossible to ignore. Each track is like a sonic punch in the face, in the best possible way.
The album is a rollercoaster of emotions, ranging from the hard-hitting riffs of "Can You Forgive Me" to the more melodic strains of "Desolation." The band showcases their versatility and skill throughout, with each member shining in their own right.
Frontman Dave Kellaway's vocals are a force to be reckoned with, soaring over the heavy guitars and driving drums with effortless ease. His lyrics are both introspective and relatable, touching on themes of love, loss, and everything in between.
Overall, "Volume One" is a triumph for KING CREATURE, proving that they are a force to be reckoned with in the world of rock music. So grab a pasty, pour yourself a cider, and crank up the volume on this stellar debut. Cornwall has never sounded so good.

About the artist
King Creature
Hailing from the wilds of Cornwall, King Creature is not your average rock band. With their blend of heavy riffs, pounding drums, and powerful vocals, this four-piece outfit is taking the UK music scene by storm. Formed in 2013, King Creature quickly made a name for themselves with their energetic live shows and raw, no-nonsense approach to music. Their influences range from classic rock icons like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath to modern heavyweights like Queens of the Stone Age and Royal Blood, resulting in a sound that is both familiar and fresh. Fronted by the charismatic and enigmatic Dave Kellaway, King Creature is a force to be reckoned with on stage. His powerful vocals soar over the thunderous wall of sound created by guitarists Matt K Vincent and Dave Evans, and bassist Jack Sutton. And let's not forget powerhouse drummer, Dave Maggs, whose intense beats drive the band forward with relentless energy. Their debut album, "Volume One," was released to critical acclaim in 2018, garnering praise for its blistering guitar work, thunderous rhythms, and Kellaway's powerhouse vocals. Tracks like "Lowlife" and "Money" showcase the band's range and intensity, while "Can you forgive me?" demonstrates their softer, more melodic side. With their infectious energy, killer musicianship, and undeniable stage presence, King Creature is a band on the rise. Keep an eye on these lads, because they're destined for big things in the world of rock 'n' roll.
