Album Review: I AM REVENGE - Violencerin
Sometimes an album comes along that grabs you by the collar, throws you against the wall, and screams in your face: "Listen up, mate, I'm here to rock your bloody socks off!" Well, I AM REVENGE's latest release, "Violencerin," is one of those albums. From the opening track, "Scream and Shout," to the closing anthem, "Rage Against the Bananas," this record is a rollercoaster ride of thrashing guitars, pounding drums, and guttural vocals that will leave you breathless – and possibly a little bruised.
It's clear that I AM REVENGE aren't here to make friends or play nice. They're here to kick ass and take names, and "Violencerin" is their calling card. Tracks like "Knuckles McGee" and "Bruiser" are like punches to the gut – in the best possible way. The band's aggressive energy is infectious, and you can't help but headbang along, even if you're sitting at your desk in the office (not that I would know anything about that, of course).
But don't be fooled by all the fury and fire. I AM REVENGE also show a surprising amount of versatility on this album. "Tears of a Clown" and "Softly, Softly" showcase a more melodic side to the band, proving that they're not just a one-trick pony. Overall, "Violencerin" is a wild, raucous, and downright exhilarating ride that is sure to leave you begging for more. Trust me, you won't want to mess with I AM REVENGE after giving this album a spin.
