Our Take
Our Take
The Stone Roses are back, baby, and they're turning heads with their latest release, "Turns Into Stone." This compilation album is a cheeky blend of the band's greatest hits and a few hidden gems, all packaged up in that classic Madchester sound that we know and love.
From the infectious grooves of "Elephant Stone" to the dreamy vibes of "Guernica," this album is a journey through the psychedelic world of the Stone Roses. Each track is a nod to a different era of the band's career, showcasing their evolution from indie darlings to rock gods.
But it's not all sunshine and rainbows on this album. The Stone Roses aren't afraid to get political, with tracks like "Fools Gold" and "What the World is Waiting For" tackling issues of greed and injustice head-on. It's a bold move from a band known for their laid-back attitude, but it pays off in spades.
Overall, "Turns Into Stone" is a triumphant return to form for The Stone Roses. With their signature swagger and killer riffs, this album is a reminder of why they're one of the greatest bands of all time. So sit back, crank up the volume, and let the Stone Roses take you on a ride you won't soon forget.

About the artist
The Stone Roses
Ah, the Stone Roses. A band that needs no introduction, yet I'll give them one anyway. These Manchester lads burst onto the scene in the late 80s, blending indie rock with a psychedelic twist that took the Britpop world by storm. Lead singer Ian Brown's iconic Mancunian drawl, guitarist John Squire's intricate riffs, bassist Mani's groovy basslines, and drummer Reni's swaggering beats all come together to create an infectious sound that's as mesmerizing as it is danceable. Their self-titled debut album, released in 1989, is a timeless classic that includes anthems like "I Wanna Be Adored" and "She Bangs the Drums." And let's not forget their legendary performance at Spike Island in 1990, where they played to a euphoric crowd of over 27,000 fans. But it hasn't all been smooth sailing for the Roses. Internal tensions led to a breakup in the mid-90s, much to the dismay of fans everywhere. Thankfully, they reunited in 2011 and have been delighting audiences with their electrifying live shows ever since. Their influence can be heard in countless bands today, from Arctic Monkeys to Oasis. So, if you haven't already jumped on the Stone Roses bandwagon, what are you waiting for? Get ready to be transported to a hazy, sun-soaked world where the music is loud, the vibes are good, and the possibilities are endless. It's time to let the Stone Roses into your life.
