JUDAS PRIEST Turbo: More Like a Flat Tyre
In the realm of heavy metal, JUDAS PRIEST has long reigned supreme with their thunderous riffs and powerhouse vocals. However, their latest offering, Turbo, falls a bit flat in comparison to their past triumphs.
The album kicks off with the title track, "Turbo Lover," which sets the tone for the rest of the record: cheesy 80s synths and lacklustre guitar work. It's almost as if the band decided they wanted to jump on the electronic bandwagon but missed the mark by a mile.
Tracks like "Hot for Love" and "Out in the Cold" try to recapture the band's signature sound, but ultimately feel watered-down and uninspired. It's a shame to see a band of such calibre deliver such a lacklustre effort.
The standout track on the album is "Parental Guidance," a tongue-in-cheek anthem that pokes fun at overprotective parents. It's a rare moment of lyrical wit in an otherwise forgettable offering.
