Ah, Savage Republic's latest offering, "Tragic Figures," is a rollercoaster of sonic delights that will have you questioning everything you thought you knew about post-punk music. From the opening track, "Maple Bar Burners," with its relentless guitar riffs and tribal drum beats, you know you're in for a wild ride. The band's unique blend of industrial and world music influences creates a sound that is both familiar and completely alien at the same time. Lead singer Thom Fuhrmann's haunting vocals are the perfect complement to the band's dark, brooding sound. His lyrics, full of existential dread and existential angst, are a perfect match for the band's apocalyptic soundscapes. Standout tracks on the album include the hypnotic "Hymn for a Blue Sinister," with its pounding drums and swirling guitars, and the epic closer, "The Ivory Coast." Overall, "Tragic Figures" is a masterpiece of post-punk music that demands to be listened to in its entirety. Savage Republic have once again proven why they are one of the most innovative bands in the genre. This album is a must-listen for any fan of experimental music.
