U.D.O.'s Thunderball on Red Vinyl is an explosive amalgamation of metal mayhem that hits harder than a pint-sized Brit at an all-you-can-eat buffet. This album is so red, it makes the Union Jack look positively pastel in comparison.
From the first crackling notes of the title track, it's clear that Udo Dirkschneider and his merry band of metalheads are not messing about. The guitars scream, the drums thunder, and Udo's vocals soar like a bald eagle on steroids.
Tracks like "Rev-Raptor" and "Tears of a Clown" showcase the band's classic metal roots, while "The Magic Mirror" brings a more modern edge to the mix. But it's on the closing track "Devil's Rendezvous" where U.D.O. truly let loose, with a riff so infectious it could start a mosh pit at a retirement home.
