Our Take
Our Take
Ah, Cannonball Adderley, the man with the sax appeal! This compilation of three classic albums is like a musical feast for your ears - a smorgasbord of smooth jazz, fiery blues, and everything in between.
"Somethin Else" kicks things off with its infectious grooves and melodic charm. Adderley's saxophone skills are on full display here, showing off his effortless virtuosity and undeniable charisma. The rhythm section is tight, the solos are smoking hot, and the overall vibe is cool as a cucumber.
Next up is "Cannonball's Sharpshooter", a collection of tunes that showcase Adderley's versatility and range. From the funky rhythms of "Country Preacher" to the soulful balladry of "I Remember You", this album has something for everyone. Adderley's bandmates are no slouches either, contributing their own unique flair to each track.
And finally, we come to "Them Dirty Blues", a rollicking romp through the grittier side of jazz. This album is full of down-and-dirty grooves, brassy horns, and toe-tapping beats. Adderley's sax wails and moans with abandon, taking listeners on a wild ride through the back alleys of music history.
Overall, this compilation is a must-listen for any jazz aficionado or music lover in general. With its stellar performances, infectious energy, and killer tunes, it's clear that Cannonball Adderley is a force to be reckoned with in the world of jazz. So grab a drink, sit back, and let the music take you on a ride you won't soon forget. Cheers to Cannonball!

Cannonball Adderley
CANNONBALL ADDERLEY Blowout saxophonist Cannonball Adderley, born Julian Edwin Adderley, was a force to be reckoned with in the world of jazz. Hailing from Tampa, Florida, this larger-than-life musician made waves in the 1950s and 60s with his distinctive blend of bebop, hard bop, and soulful jazz. Known for his raucous playing style and infectious personality, Cannonball Adderley was a true showman on stage. With his soulful tone and unmatched improvisational skills, he could make his saxophone sing like no other. It's no wonder he was dubbed "Cannonball" - this guy's playing was explosive!
