Our Take
Alright, you cheeky monkeys, buckle up because we're diving into the cesspool of debauchery that is Pulp's "This Is Hardcore." Released in 1998, this album is like a raucous night out in the seediest club in Sheffield, complete with dodgy characters, plenty of thrills, and a headache-inducing hangover the next morning. Frontman Jarvis Cocker's crooning vocals take center stage, oozing with sleazy charm and a hint of desperation. The title track kicks things off with a bang, setting the tone for an album that revels in its own debauchery. Tracks like "The Fear" and "A Little Soul" delve into the darker corners of relationships, while "Seductive Barry" takes us on a whirlwind tour of a seedy underworld.
