Whoa, whoa, whoa, what have we got here? It's only the bloody best of Slade! For those of you living under a rock (or perhaps just not born in the '70s), Slade were a glam rock powerhouse, known for their catchy tunes, flamboyant style, and all-around rock n' roll attitude. And The Very Best Of is a smorgasbord of their greatest hits, from "Cum On Feel the Noize" to "Mama Weer All Crazee Now". Now, let's get one thing straight - if you're looking for subtle, introspective music to listen to while sobbing into your diary, this ain't it. Slade is all about turning the volume up to eleven, grabbing a can of beer, and rocking out like there's no tomorrow. And that's exactly what you'll be doing when you put on this album. But don't be fooled by the high-energy anthems - there's some serious musicianship on display here. Noddy Holder's gravelly vocals cut through the noise like a hot knife through butter, and the rest of the band are tighter than a pair of spandex trousers.
