Our Take

FEED THE RHINO's latest album, "The Sorrow And The Sound," is like a slap in the face from a drunken rhinoceros - intense, unpredictable, and a bit messy. The British hardcore outfit has been pummeling eardrums for years, and this record is no exception.

From the opening track, "Give Up," to the closing anthem, "Deny and Defy," FEED THE RHINO delivers a non-stop barrage of gut-punching riffs and guttural screams. This is not music for the faint of heart, but for those who like their music loud, heavy, and in your face.

Despite its ferocious sound, "The Sorrow And The Sound" also showcases the band's maturation as songwriters. Tracks like "Behind the Pride" and "Completion" demonstrate a more nuanced approach to melody and structure, without sacrificing any of the raw energy for which FEED THE RHINO is known.

However, the album also has its missteps. The ballad "Lost Within" feels out of place among the chaos, and some of the lyrics can veer into cliché territory. But overall, "The Sorrow And The Sound" is a solid addition to the band's discography, and a reminder that FEED THE RHINO is still one of the most exciting acts in the UK hardcore scene.

So put on your steel-toed boots, crank up the volume, and let FEED THE RHINO feed your ears with the sweet, sweet sound of sorrow. It may not be pretty, but it sure is a hell of a good time.

About the artist

Feed the Rhino

Feed The Rhino are a band that pack a punch - both musically and literally. Hailing from Kent, this hard-hitting quintet have been tearing up stages across the UK for over a decade with their blend of metalcore and hardcore punk. With a name like Feed The Rhino, you'd expect nothing less than a wild, untamed sound - and that's exactly what they deliver. Their music is a visceral explosion of aggression, filled with crushing riffs, thunderous drums, and raw, guttural vocals that will leave you gasping for breath. But don't let their ferocious sound fool you - Feed The Rhino are a band with a sense of humour as sharp as their riffs. Their lyrics are filled with sardonic wit and self-deprecating humour, poking fun at themselves and the world around them. Their live shows are a must-see experience, with frontman Lee Tobin leading the charge like a madman possessed, flinging himself into the crowd and whipping up a frenzy of mosh pits and crowdsurfing. If you're lucky enough to catch Feed The Rhino live, be prepared to leave bruised, battered, and grinning from ear to ear. In a music scene overrun with pretenders and posers, Feed The Rhino are the real deal - a band who live and breathe their music, unafraid to show their rough edges and let their personalities shine through. With their latest album cementing their status as one of the UK's most exciting heavy bands, Feed The Rhino are here to stay - so buckle up, hold on tight, and prepare to be blown away.
