Our Take

LITTLE RICHARD - The Rill Thing/King Of Rock And Roll/The Second Coming

In Little Richard's latest collection of albums, we are taken on a wild and unpredictable ride through the sounds of rock 'n' roll. The Rill Thing kicks things off with its infectious energy and relentless groove. From the foot-tapping beats of "King of Rock and Roll" to the soulful ballads of "Dancing in the Street," this album is a testament to Little Richard's unmatched talent and charisma.

But wait, there's more! The King of Rock and Roll takes us even deeper into the world of rock 'n' roll, with its anthemic tracks and electrifying guitar solos. Little Richard truly shows why he is hailed as one of the pioneers of the genre, with his powerful vocals and undeniable stage presence.

And just when you think it couldn't get any better, The Second Coming swoops in to deliver the grand finale. From the gospel-infused "Great Gosh A'Mighty" to the bluesy "I Saw Her Standing There," Little Richard proves that he is still the king of rock 'n' roll, even after all these years.

Overall, this triple album release is a must-listen for any music lover looking for a taste of true rock 'n' roll greatness. Little Richard's infectious energy and timeless talent shine through in every track, making this a true masterpiece that will have you rocking and rolling all night long.

About the artist

Little Richard

Ah, Little Richard. The man, the myth, the legend - the true architect of rock 'n' roll. With his wild charisma, flamboyant persona, and electrifying performances, Richard Wayne Penniman burst onto the music scene in the 1950s like a bolt of lightning, forever changing the course of popular music. Born in Macon, Georgia in 1932, Little Richard's larger-than-life personality and groundbreaking music quickly made him a household name. From hits like "Tutti Frutti" and "Good Golly, Miss Molly" to his iconic pompadour hairstyle and flashy suits, Richard oozed style and swagger at every turn. But it wasn't just his catchy tunes and show-stopping stage presence that set Little Richard apart - it was his fearless embrace of his own identity and refusal to conform to societal norms. As one of the first openly queer artists in rock 'n' roll, Richard blazed a trail for future generations of LGBTQ musicians to follow. Throughout his storied career, Little Richard wowed audiences around the world with his high-energy performances and infectious charm. Whether he was pounding away on the piano, belting out his signature falsetto vocals, or strutting across the stage like a peacock in full plumage, Richard never failed to leave a lasting impression. Sadly, the music world lost a true icon when Little Richard passed away in 2020. But his legacy lives on in the countless artists he inspired and the timeless music he created. So here's to Little Richard - the irrepressible king of rock 'n' roll, the original rockstar, and a true trailblazer in every sense of the word. Long live the king!
