Our Take
Our Take
TOOTHLESS, the brainchild of Bombay Bicycle Club’s very own Ed Nash, has finally graced us with their debut album "The Pace Of The Passing." And let me tell you, it’s a rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish.
The album kicks off with the infectious track "Sisyphus," a jangly indie-pop tune that sets the tone for what’s to come. Nash’s smooth vocals glide over shimmering guitar melodies, creating a sense of nostalgia that is both comforting and bittersweet.
As the album progresses, we are treated to gems like "Palm's Backside," a dreamy, synth-laden ballad that showcases Nash’s songwriting prowess. The production on this track is top-notch, with layers of intricate instrumentation building to a euphoric crescendo.
But it’s not all sunshine and rainbows on "The Pace Of The Passing." Tracks like "You Thought I Was Your Friend (I Want To Hurt You)" delve into darker lyrical themes, adding depth and complexity to the album as a whole.
Overall, TOOTHLESS has delivered a debut album that is both polished and raw, introspective and danceable. "The Pace Of The Passing" is a testament to Nash’s talent as a musician and songwriter, and solidifies TOOTHLESS as a force to be reckoned with in the indie music scene. Don’t sleep on this one, folks.
