Our Take

W.A.S.P. is back with their sophomore effort, "The Last Command", and let me tell you, this album is like a slap in the face from a leather-clad biker - in the best possible way, of course.

From the opening track "Wild Child", you know you're in for a wild ride. Lead singer Blackie Lawless' vocals are as sharp as ever, cutting through the heavy guitar riffs like a hot knife through butter. The band's signature blend of glam metal and hard rock is on full display here, with tracks like "Blind in Texas" and "Fistful of Diamonds" delivering the perfect mix of grit and glamour.

But don't let the tough exterior fool you - there are moments of vulnerability and introspection on this album as well. "Cries in the Night" and "Miss You" showcase a softer side to W.A.S.P., proving that there's more to this band than just black leather and spikes.

"The Last Command" may not be breaking any new ground in the metal world, but what it lacks in innovation, it more than makes up for in sheer energy and attitude. If you're a fan of big, ballsy rock 'n' roll that doesn't take itself too seriously, then W.A.S.P.'s latest offering is definitely worth a spin. Just make sure to buckle up and hold on tight - things are about to get loud and rowdy.
