Our Take

The Kingston Trio Collection 1958-62 is a delightful trip down memory lane, featuring the iconic folk group at the peak of their powers. With their tight harmonies, catchy melodies, and witty lyrics, The Kingston Trio ruled the charts in the late 1950s and early 1960s, and it's easy to see why.

From the charming sing-along classics like "Tom Dooley" and "M.T.A." to the heartfelt ballads like "Scotch and Soda" and "Greenback Dollar," this collection showcases the band's versatility and songwriting prowess. Each track is like a mini time capsule, transporting listeners back to a simpler, more innocent era.

But what really sets The Kingston Trio apart is their infectious energy and playful spirit. Whether they're singing about love, loss, or the follies of everyday life, their joy and enthusiasm are palpable. It's impossible not to tap your foot or sing along when these guys are on the stereo.

So grab your favourite cardigan, pour yourself a cup of tea, and prepare to be charmed by The Kingston Trio. This collection is a must-have for fans of folk music, nostalgia, or just good old-fashioned fun. With their timeless tunes and timeless charm, The Kingston Trio are sure to put a smile on your face and a song in your heart. Cheers to that, old chaps!

About the artist

The Kingston Trio

KINGTON TRIO is the kind of band that makes you question why you ever thought music was a serious business. Hailing from the small town of Bumbleton, this trio of musical misfits have been making waves in the industry with their unique blend of folk, country, and psychedelic rock. Formed in 2009 after an impromptu jam session at a local pub, KINGTON TRIO quickly gained a reputation for their energetic live performances and offbeat songwriting. Lead singer Fanny McFiddles is a powerhouse of a vocalist, with a voice that can range from a sweet whisper to a full-throated roar in the span of a single song. Guitarist Billy "The Banjo" Johnson brings a raucous energy to the stage, while drummer Tommy "Tambourine" Thompson keeps the beat with a frenetic intensity that borders on madness. Their debut album, "Don't Knock It 'Til You've Tried It," was released in 2012 to critical acclaim, with Pitchfork declaring it "a triumph of whimsy and weirdness." Tracks like "Banjo Blues" and "Tambourine Tango" showcase the band's eclectic influences, from old-timey folk to psychedelic rock to good old-fashioned foot-stomping country. Since then, KINGTON TRIO has toured the world, playing to sold-out crowds in venues big and small. Their latest album, "Bumbleton Boogie," is set to drop next month, and if the buzz is anything to go by, it's shaping up to be their best work yet. So if you're looking for a band that's equal parts fun, quirky, and downright talented, look no further than KINGTON TRIO. Trust us, you won't be disappointed.
