Our Take

HANK BALLARD's latest offering, "Jumpin Hank Ballardin," is a delightful romp through the wild and wacky world of rock 'n' roll.

From the moment the needle hits the vinyl, you're transported to a time when dance floors were packed, and hips were shaking with reckless abandon.

Ballard's unique blend of R&B, soul, and rockabilly creates a sound that is both infectious and irresistible. Each track is a toe-tapping, hip-swaying delight that will have you grooving all night long.

The infectious energy of songs like "Let's Go, Let's Go, Let's Go" and "Finger Poppin' Time" will have you jumping out of your seat and onto the dance floor in no time.

Ballard's raspy and soulful voice brings a raw, gritty edge to the album, adding depth and emotion to each song.

The production is top-notch, with a retro sound that pays homage to the music of the past while still feeling fresh and modern.

"Jumpin Hank Ballardin" is a must-listen for anyone who loves good music and values a damn good time. So grab your dancing shoes, crank up the volume, and get ready to jump, jive, and wail the night away with HANK BALLARD.

About the artist

Hank Ballard and the Midnighters

HANK BALLARD: In the annals of rock and roll history, one name stands out as both influential and underappreciated: Hank Ballard. Often overshadowed by his contemporaries, Ballard's impact on the music scene cannot be understated. Born John Henry Kendricks in Detroit, Michigan, in 1927, Ballard began his career as a member of the Royals, a doo-wop group that found moderate success in the 1950s. But it wasn't until Ballard struck out on his own that he truly found his voice. With his band, the Midnighters, Ballard churned out hit after hit in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Songs like "Work with Me, Annie" and "The Twist" catapulted him to fame, but it was his undeniable stage presence and raw energy that set him apart from his peers. Ballard's music is a fusion of rhythm and blues, gospel, and rockabilly, with a healthy dose of good old-fashioned soul thrown in for good measure. His lyrics are witty, irreverent, and often ahead of their time, tackling social issues and taboo subjects with a sly wink and a nod. Despite his talent and charisma, Ballard never quite achieved the same level of success as some of his contemporaries. But to those in the know, he remains a towering figure in the pantheon of rock and roll. So the next time you're looking for a sound that's a little bit funky, a little bit funny, and a whole lot of fun, look no further than Hank Ballard. You won't be disappointed.
