TEARS FOR FEARS - The Hurting
In a world full of synth-pop wannabes, TEARS FOR FEARS have always been the real deal. Their debut album, The Hurting, might be the most depressing thing you'll listen to all year - and that's saying something in 2021. But hey, if you're looking for a good cry, this album has got you covered.
From the haunting vocals of Roland Orzabal to the bittersweet melodies of "Mad World" and "Pale Shelter," The Hurting is a masterclass in melancholy. It's like the musical equivalent of a rainy day in Manchester - bleak, beautiful, and oh so British.
Sure, some might say the production is a bit dated, but who cares when the songs are this good? Tracks like "Change" and "Suffer the Children" still hit like a punch to the gut, even all these years later. And let's not forget the iconic album cover, featuring the band looking like they just stepped out of an episode of Stranger Things.
So if you're in the mood for some dark, brooding, 80s nostalgia, look no further than The Hurting. Just make sure you have a box of tissues handy - you're gonna need them. Trust me, I'm a music reviewer.
