Our Take

WARLORD's latest album, Holy Empire, is as chaotic and colourful as a paintball fight at a medieval-themed amusement park. The splatter vinyl edition only adds to the sensory overload, with its psychedelic swirls reminiscent of a tie-dye t-shirt worn by a particularly rebellious squire.

From the opening track, "Siege of the Kingdom", it's clear that WARLORD is not here to play it safe. The guitars are relentless, the drums are thunderous, and the vocals sound like they were recorded in the belly of a dragon. This is not background music for your next brunch, this is music for storming castles and slaying dragons.

Tracks like "Battle Hymn" and "Witchcraft" showcase WARLORD's ability to seamlessly blend elements of power metal, thrash, and traditional folk music. The result is a sound that is as unique as it is exhilarating, like drinking mead with a heavy metal band in the back of a horse-drawn carriage.

Holy Empire is not for the faint of heart. It's loud, it's brash, and it's unapologetically epic. But if you're willing to embrace the chaos, you'll be rewarded with an album that takes you on a wild ride through a fantasy world where the only rule is to rock out like it's the end of the world. So grab your sword, don your armour, and prepare to join the WARLORD's Holy Empire. This is one battle you won't want to miss.
