Our Take

T.REX's "The Groover" is a cosmic journey through the glam rock stratosphere, catapulting listeners into a glittering, boogie-infused frenzy. Marc Bolan's signature vocals drip with sultry swagger, seducing us into a whirlwind of pulsating rhythms and electrifying guitar riffs. Each track is a flamboyant escapade filled with lyrical prowess and infectious energy, making it impossible to resist tapping your foot along to the beat.

The album kicks off with the title track, a head-bopping anthem that sets the tone for the rest of the record. Bolan's lyrics are both cryptic and captivating, drawing us in with their enigmatic charm. "Midnight" is a haunting ballad that showcases Bolan's versatility as a songwriter, while "Sky Church Music" transports us to a psychedelic realm of sonic bliss.

"The Groover" is a masterclass in glam rock excellence, with each track displaying T.REX's knack for crafting irresistibly catchy tunes. Bolan's larger-than-life persona shines through in every note, leaving us craving more of his magical musical concoctions. So throw on your glittered platform boots and get ready to boogie with T.REX's timeless classic, "The Groover." It's a wild ride you won't want to end.

About the artist

T.Rex

T.REX is the brainchild of English singer-songwriter and glam rock pioneer, Marc Bolan. With his trademark curly hair, glittery outfits, and larger-than-life persona, Bolan became a cultural icon in the 1970s. Born Mark Feld in London in 1947, Bolan found early success as a member of the mod band John's Children before forming T.REX in 1967. The band's breakthrough came in 1970 with the release of their self-titled album, which featured the hit singles "Ride a White Swan" and "Metal Guru." Known for their catchy hooks, provocative lyrics, and electrifying live performances, T.REX quickly became one of the most popular acts of the glam rock era. Bolan's flamboyant stage presence and sizzling guitar riffs captivated audiences around the world, earning him a legion of devoted fans. Despite their commercial success, T.REX faced criticism from some music critics who dismissed them as mere purveyors of style over substance. However, their influence on the glam rock genre cannot be overstated, with artists ranging from David Bowie to Iggy Pop citing Bolan as a major inspiration. Tragically, Bolan's life was cut short in 1977 when he was killed in a car accident at the age of 29. But his legacy lives on through T.REX's music, which continues to inspire new generations of fans and musicians alike. With their anthemic rock anthems and infectious glam energy, T.REX remains a timeless and essential part of the music landscape.
