Our Take

The Blackest Album - An Industrial Tribute To Metallica is a cacophony of distortion and chaos, blending the classic sound of Metallica with the gritty, industrial edge of bands like Ministry and KMFDM. As the title suggests, this album is dark, brooding, and oh so very black.

The opening track, a cover of "Enter Sandman" by Razed in Black, sets the tone for what's to come. The familiar riff is transformed into a pulsating, almost hypnotic groove, with pounding drums and screeching vocals that will leave you feeling like you've just been dragged through the depths of hell.

Other standout tracks include God Lives Underwater's take on "Sad But True," which adds an eerie, electronic element to the song's already ominous lyrics, and Die Krupps' industrial reimagining of "Battery," which somehow manages to make the original sound even more brutal.

But it's not all doom and gloom on The Blackest Album. The covers of "The Unforgiven" by Apoptygma Berzerk and "Fade to Black" by Razed in Black bring a sense of beauty and introspection to the mix, balancing out the album's darker moments with moments of vulnerability and emotion.

Overall, The Blackest Album is a thrilling, adrenaline-fueled ride through the darkest corners of Metallica's catalogue. Whether you're a die-hard fan of the band or just a casual listener looking for something a bit different, this industrial tribute is sure to leave you headbanging and wanting more.
