About the artist

Medicine Head

Medicine Head are the forgotten heroes of the British rock scene, a duo that fused blues, folk, and psychedelic influences into a sound that was uniquely their own. Consisting of Peter Hope-Evans on harmonica and vocals, and John Fiddler on guitar and vocals, Medicine Head burst onto the scene in the early 1970s with a string of hits that showcased their raw talent and unconventional approach to songwriting. Their breakthrough single, "One and One is One," was a chart-topping success that epitomised their knack for crafting infectious melodies and poetic lyrics. With Hope-Evans' bluesy harmonica riffs and Fiddler's soulful vocals, Medicine Head quickly established themselves as one of the most exciting acts of their time. Despite their initial success, Medicine Head never quite reached the same level of fame as their contemporaries. Perhaps it was their refusal to conform to the trends of the time, or maybe it was just bad luck. But what is undeniable is the impact they had on the British music scene, influencing countless artists who came after them. Today, Medicine Head may have faded from the spotlight, but their music lives on as a testament to their talent and creativity. With their stripped-down sound and honest lyrics, they remain a hidden gem waiting to be discovered by a new generation of music lovers. So do yourself a favour and dig into the back catalog of Medicine Head – you won't be disappointed.
