Our Take
Our Take
Behold, metalheads and space cadets alike, for OMEGA INFINITY has crash-landed on our planet with their otherworldly offering, "The Anticurrent." This transparent vinyl edition is like a cosmic kaleidoscope of riffs and blasts that will transport you to the furthest reaches of the galaxy.
From the moment the needle hits the groove, you are greeted with a tsunami of blackened death metal that is both terrifying and tantalising. The haunting vocals of Xenoyr (ex-Ne Obliviscaris) send shivers down your spine, while Tentakel P brings the thunder with his relentless drumming.
The production on this album is so slick you could skate on it, with every blast beat and tremolo-picked riff cutting through the cosmos like a laser beam. The intricate layers of sound create a sonic tapestry that will have you headbanging one moment and contemplating the mysteries of the universe the next.
Tracks like "The Arc of Loss" and "Voyage Beyond Horizon" are like a descent into madness, with their intergalactic atmospheres and punishing breakdowns. It's as if you've stumbled upon a cosmic dance party where chaos reigns supreme, and only the bravest souls can survive.
So, grab your space helmets and buckle up, because OMEGA INFINITY is taking us on a wild ride through the void. "The Anticurrent" is a mind-bending journey that will leave you breathless and begging for more. Prepare to have your senses annihilated in the best possible way.

About the artist
Omega Infinity
Omega Infinity is the wicked brainchild of two shadowy figures from the black metal underground, Xenoyr and Tentakel P. Hailing from Germany, this enigmatic duo emerged onto the scene in 2020 with their debut album "Solar Spectre," a cosmic concoction of haunting melodies, blistering riffs, and otherworldly atmospheres. Xenoyr, known for his work as the frontman of Australian extreme metal outfit Ne Obliviscaris, brings his signature guttural growls and poetic lyricism to Omega Infinity, while Tentakel P weaves intricate layers of symphonic black metal and avant-garde elements that defy conventional genre boundaries. Their music is a sonic journey through the cosmos, blending elements of post-black metal, industrial, and progressive influences to create a sound that is both ethereal and aggressive. Tracks like "Mars" and "Uranus" transport listeners to distant planets with their cosmic imagery and pulsating rhythms, while "NeutroN ShivA" and "Saturn" showcase the band's technical prowess and intricate songwriting. Omega Infinity's music is a dark and immersive experience, drawing listeners into a world of cosmic chaos and existential dread. With their hypnotic melodies, menacing vocals, and thunderous drums, Xenoyr and Tentakel P have crafted a debut album that is both haunting and electrifying. As they continue to explore the outer reaches of the metal universe, Omega Infinity's future looks bright – or perhaps, dark and foreboding. One thing is for certain: this duo is not afraid to push the boundaries of what black metal can be, creating a sonic landscape that is as captivating as it is terrifying.
