Our Take
Our Take
Ah, Bobby Darin, the man with the voice of an angel and the moves of a slightly drunk uncle at a family wedding. This three-disc collection of his essential hits is a rollercoaster of emotions, from the toe-tapping joy of "Mack the Knife" to the heart-wrenching sorrow of "Beyond the Sea."
Darin's unique blend of pop, rock, and jazz is on full display here, showcasing his versatility as a musician and his undeniable charisma as a performer. Whether he's crooning a romantic ballad or belting out a high-energy banger, Darin's voice never fails to captivate.
But what truly sets this collection apart is the insight it provides into Darin's evolution as an artist. From his early days as a fresh-faced crooner to his later experiments with folk and country, each track tells a story of growth and experimentation.
So grab a cocktail, slip into your best vintage suit or dress, and prepare to be transported to a bygone era of cool. Bobby Darin may be gone, but his music lives on in this essential collection that is sure to delight both die-hard fans and newcomers alike. Cheers, Bobby, wherever you are.

About the artist
Bobby Darin
Bobby Darin, the ultimate triple threat in the world of music. Not only was he a talented singer, but he was also a songwriter and actor, making him a force to be reckoned with in the industry. With his smooth vocals and charismatic stage presence, Darin quickly rose to fame in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Born Walden Robert Cassotto, Darin adopted his stage name to distance himself from his Italian-American roots. This move was a clever one, as it allowed him to break into the mainstream music scene with ease. His breakout hit, "Splish Splash", was a catchy tune that showcased his unique blend of rock and roll with elements of jazz and swing. Darin's versatility as an artist was evident in his ability to effortlessly switch between genres. From the upbeat "Mack the Knife" to the heartfelt "Beyond the Sea", Darin proved he could tackle any musical style with ease. It's no wonder he earned a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1959. But Darin's talent wasn't just limited to music. He also made a name for himself in Hollywood, starring in films like "Come September" and "Pressure Point". His on-screen presence was just as captivating as his musical performances, solidifying his status as a true entertainment powerhouse. Unfortunately, Darin's life was cut short at the young age of 37 due to heart failure. But his legacy lives on through his timeless music and unforgettable performances. Bobby Darin may have left us too soon, but his impact on the music industry will never be forgotten.
