Our Take

Ah, well would you look at that! STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN's "Texas Flood" doesn't just trickle into your ears, it crashes in like a wave of bluesy goodness. Oozing with that signature Texas charm, this album is a certified classic that will have you reaching for your air guitar in no time.

From the snarling riffs of "Love Struck Baby" to the soulful wails of "Lenny," Vaughan proves himself to be a guitar virtuoso of the highest order. His fingers dance across the strings with a finesse that is simply jaw-dropping, leaving no doubt that he belongs in the pantheon of guitar gods.

But it's not just Vaughan's stellar playing that makes "Texas Flood" such a delight. The tight-knit rhythm section keeps things grooving along nicely, while Vaughan's gritty vocals add an extra layer of authenticity to the proceedings.

Standout tracks include the blistering title track, which kicks things off with a bang, and the smouldering slow burn of "Pride and Joy." But really, there's not a weak track to be found on this album.

So grab yourself a Lone Star beer, kick back, and let the sweet sounds of STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN wash over you. "Texas Flood" may be over 30 years old, but its appeal is as fresh as ever. Trust us, you don't want to miss out on this one.

About the artist

Stevie Ray Vaughan

Stevie Ray Vaughan, the legendary blues guitarist from Texas, is a name that sends shivers down the spine of music enthusiasts around the world. With his signature cowboy hat and soulful guitar riffs, Vaughan was a force to be reckoned with in the 80s music scene. Vaughan burst onto the scene in the early 80s with his band Double Trouble, showcasing his incredible guitar skills and gritty vocals. He quickly gained a reputation as one of the greatest guitarists of his generation, drawing comparisons to the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton. But Vaughan was more than just a guitar virtuoso. His music was a potent blend of blues, rock, and soul, delivered with raw emotion and an infectious energy that captivated audiences far and wide. Tracks like "Pride and Joy" and "Texas Flood" became instant classics, cementing Vaughan's status as a true icon of the blues genre. Sadly, Vaughan's career was cut tragically short when he was killed in a helicopter crash in 1990. But his legacy lives on through his music, which continues to inspire musicians and fans alike to this day. Stevie Ray Vaughan may have left us too soon, but his impact on the world of music will be felt for generations to come. Rest in peace, Stevie. You are truly a legend.
