Our Take

The latest offering from GLINKA / TOKAREV, Tethin, is about as charming as a soggy English sandwich. With all the excitement of a rainy day in London, this album fails to make a splash in the already crowded music scene.

From the lacklustre production to the forgettable lyrics, Tethin is a snooze-fest from start to finish. The vocals sound like they were recorded underwater, and not in a cool, experimental way. It's more like they accidentally dropped the microphone in a puddle and just went with it.

The instrumentation is equally uninspired, with cookie-cutter beats and generic guitar riffs that could have been pulled straight from a late '90s alternative rock playlist. Even the attempts at quirky, offbeat charm fall flat, landing somewhere between cringe-worthy and plain old confusing.

In a music world that's constantly evolving and pushing boundaries, Tethin feels like a relic from a bygone era, a sad attempt to recapture a time long past. If you're looking for something fresh and exciting, look elsewhere. Tethin is a trip down memory lane that you won't want to take.
