Our Take
If Brian May and Stevie Ray Vaughan had a love child, it would be Cactus Temple of Blues. This album is a rollercoaster of bluesy riffs, soulful vocals, and downright funky grooves. Lead guitarist, Spike Thorn, shreds his way through each track with the precision and flair of a true rock star. Meanwhile, lead vocalist, Prickly Pete, croons and wails with a passion that can only come from years of heartbreak and whiskey. The rhythm section, consisting of bassist Rattlesnake Rick and drummer Slitherin' Sly, holds it all together with a tightness that can only come from years of playing together. Their grooves are infectious, making it impossible to sit still while listening to this album. Overall, Cactus Temple of Blues is a must-listen for any fan of modern blues rock.
