Cage the Elephant are back with their latest offering, "Tell Me I'm Pretty," and let me tell you, this album is pretty damn great. The band has really hit their stride on this one, with a perfect blend of swagger, grit, and a whole lot of attitude.
From the opening track, "Cry Baby," you know you're in for a wild ride. The energy is infectious, the hooks are catchy, and the production is top-notch. It's like they've taken all the best bits of rock 'n' roll history and thrown them into a musical blender to create something truly special.
The standout track, in my humble opinion, is "Mess Around." It's got that classic Cage the Elephant sound - raw, loud, and unapologetically fun. It's impossible not to bop your head along to this one, and the lyrics are just as infectious as the melody.
But it's not all high-energy rockers on "Tell Me I'm Pretty." The band also shows their softer side on tracks like "Too Late to Say Goodbye" and "Punchin' Bag." These songs showcase a different side to the band, with more introspective lyrics and stripped-back instrumentation.
